Safety light curtains are also known as safety light barriers or safety light screens. These optoelectronic devices are used to detect people present in the vicinity of moving machinery. Light curtains can be used as an alternative to mechanical barriers and other forms of traditional machine guarding.

A laser scanner is a protective device that scans its surroundings 2/3 dimensionally using infrared invisible laser beams. These beams provide protection for a hazardous area. When an object enters the protective field, the laser scanner gives an output to indication detection of an object. 

Industrial Safety cameras are used to visually monitor a predefined area to detect the presence of intruders or foreign body. These cameras form a vital safety function to ensure machinery can operate without causing injury or damage to people or objects.  

A light beam sensor is a sensing module that uses light to detect objects in its field of view. The transmitter element of the sensor projects a light beam into the area it is monitoring, using either visible or infrared light. A receiver component then collects and interprets information about what happened to that beam of light on the way from the emitter. The sensor uses this data to detect and report the presence of an object or person within the protection field.  

Temperature sensors are widely used within Industry to measure how hot or cold an item is. The sensor converts the temperature into an electrical signal that can be feed into a display or controller to ensure the temperature is maintained or measured.  

Flow sensors or flow indicators are flow meter devices used to measure the amount of liquid, gas or vapour that passes through them. They can also be known as flow gauges or liquid meters. Flow sensors are available as time measuring units (these measure flow rates over a set time period) or they can be totalising flow meters that continually measure the medium passed through. 

Pressure sensors are devices that sense the applied pressure of gases or liquids. The output of the measurement is then converted into an electrical signal which reflects the amount of pressure applied. 

Level sensors monitor, maintain, and measure liquid levels to determine how full or how empty a container, tank or silo is. Level sensors provide an output electrical signal at predetermined levels to communicate when to open or close control valves. 

Resistance Temperature Detectors or RTDs are used to sense varying temperature ranges and levels of resistance in industrial and commercial applications. An RTD consists of a resistance element and insulated copper wires.

A thermocouple is made up of two wires of different metals that, when joined together, create an electrical junction known as a measuring junction. When the temperature changes at the junction, it creates a voltage that can be interpreted to read the temperature, also known as the Seebeck effect.

For greater accuracy, select a scope with 3-5 times the highest signal frequency.

Memory depth is the maximum possible record length for one acquisition. The more memory you have, the more samples can be taken, and the higher the resolution.

For more accurate measurements, select a scope with higher resolution. For analogue, noise or audio signals consider 12 to 16 bit resolutions.
